I'm not really a huge theatre kind of guy but I'd be a fool not to take advantage of the world class productions on display here at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. I usually make it to a few shows a year and am always amazed at what Bill Rauch and co. are able to pull off. Recently, I've started framing a playbill and some ticket stubs to highlight each year.
Start Your Collection – Free Return Shipping Drop off your playbill and tickets on your way out of town, we'll frame them and ship the finished product back to you for free.* *Free shipping is good for this design with up to 4 tickets/playbill. This celebration of NASA Astronaut Ed Mitchell includes a photo of him on the moon (the sixth man to walk on the moon) and a flag that made the trip. The signature on the photo is in silver, and the image is mostly void of color, so we went with silver and black for the frame design. We could have used some of the colors from the flag but didn't want to overwhelm the individual items; plus black and silver have kind of a spacey feel.
The photo doesn't show the depth of the frame which is about 1.5 inches. My favorite part of the project was the image below; I added a copy of this to the back of the finished piece. 15 – 50% off framed artwork!
Local photography, concert posters, maps, and more! All framed with conservation-grade materials. With the 2016 baseball season upon us, we are offering 16% off any sports-related custom framing project. Now through April 23rd. Frame Your Favorite Sports Memory! Growing up near Minneapolis, MN, I was able to witness two, improbable, World Series Championships by the Minnesota Twins. Here's a little shadowbox I put together with a couple things from the 1987 season. I wasn't able to make it to Phish's recent, three-night, run on the Mexican Coast but I was able to frame a couple of the official show posters (and watching people dancing in the surf on the webcasts was pretty cool).
The first one has three mats (top one is black suede) and a separate opening for the wristband while the second one has a similar mat scheme but a much more substantial frame (1.5" wide & 1.5" deep). This sweet little drawing came into the shop last summer. Check out the photos below to see it progress from the original to the finished project. Lots of great live music this summer. Here's a few posters I was privileged to frame. I always enjoy framing things that have to do with my favorite band. Here's a limited edition poster and ticket stub from their fall tour opener at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene that recently came into the shop.
For this project I used two layers of Crescent Select conservation matboard–with a second opening for the ticket stub–and 99% UV blocking conservation glass to protect the items. The dark brown frame–one of our value mouldings–is 1 1/4" wide and 1" deep, and has a slight wood grain pattern. |
